Excentrica is known for sublime singing, and an eclectic range of repertoire to inspire, amuse, delight, and entertain.

In this concert, we present a showcase of charming works from Renaissance to Contemporary, Sanctuary to Stage. The line-up includes “Magnificat” by Lana Walter, “Ubi caritas” by Ola Gjeilo, “Mary Speaks” by Daniel Gawthrop, and from the newly-formed Well-Met Quartet, “Ashokan Farewell.”

Enjoy our extended Avian Feature, a set of toe-tapping tongue-twisters, and the signature Excentrica sing-along now featuring Patently Perfect 4th Participation.

Workshop Chorus for Fall 2019

      No Comments on Workshop Chorus for Fall 2019

Excentrica Women’s Chamber Chorus is pleased to present the 2019 Fall Workshop Chorus, and we hope you will be able to join us!  The Workshop Chorus rehearses with Excentrica on select evenings, and receives a short group voice lesson each session.

NB It is not necessary or it may not be possible for you to attend every workshop rehearsal in order to be part of this adventure. You will be able to catch up on missed repertoire in your optional one-on-one time with the conductor.

Workshop singers have the opportunity to be Involved in our 90 minute “Excentrica Family Christmas” event (Sunday afternoon Dec. 8 at Southminster-Steinhauer United Church, Edmonton.)

Dates:  Thursday evenings 7:15 – 8:15 p.m.  Sept 26, Oct 17, 31, Nov 14, 28.
For those participating in the Christmas presentation, you will have a pre-concert rehearsal on December 5 (7:15 – 8 pm.)

Fee:  $85, (includes an optional 25-minute private voice lesson) plus $20 refundable cash caution fee for scores.

Beginning with “Sumer is icumen in” from 13th century England, this concert features classic, folk, and  jazz flavours in 800 years of canons (rounds) and imitative writing for the delight of singers and audience alike.

Canadian Peacemakers International benefit concert March 17, 2019

In support of CPI’s educational program, Excentrica Women’s Chamber Chorus invites you to attend “Excentrica and Friends” on Sunday, March 17, 6 p.m., at Lendrum Mennonite Brethren Church.  Excentrica, conducted by Barbara Sadler Wells, and accompanied by Nick Kalogirou, is admired for seriously beautiful singing (without taking themselves too seriously) and will share the stage with invited guests to inspire and entertain.
